Death Rattle Dazzle is still only a concept when the episode begins. We see Oliver trying to come up with the first of many promised “show stoppers” with The Creatures of the Night which I believe is conceived as the opening number of the musical.

Towards the end of the episode we hear Loretta Durkin, played by Meryl Streep, gives a stirring performance of Look For the Light.

Original songs for this episode were written by Benj Pasek & Justin Paul. This is the songwriting duo behind the songs from the romantic musical, La La Land, Christmas Story: The Musical and the musical, James and the Giant Peach. Look For The Light was co-written by two time grammy winner, Sara Bareilles.

Other than the expected incidental music by Siddhartha Khosla, this episode does not have any other musical cues.
