Only Music In The Building: The Sting

Watch the series on Hulu!

Sting, that guy from U2 (played by Gordon Sumner), has become THE person of interest among our intrepid investigators.

We are treated to Jan playing a basson solo rendition of Pavane by  Gabriel Fauré written in 1887. A slow, processional and flirty piece sometimes accompanied by a chorus containing the following:
Et c’est toujours de même, et c’est ainsi toujours!
On s’adore! On se hait!
On maudit ses amours!
Adieu Myrtille, Eglé, Chloé, démons moqueurs!
Adieu donc et bons jours aux tyrans de nos coeurs!

[translation]

And it’s always the same! And will be so always!
They love one another! They hate one another!
They curse their loves!
Farewell, Myrtil! Eglé! Chloe! Mocking demons!
Farewell and good days to the tyrants of our hearts!

Will Charles’ heart be subjected to such tyrany?

Subsequent musical choices reflect the playfulness of love as well.

During Charle’s dinner with Jan, we hear the appropriately named “The Lounge Pianist” by Dick Walter. He has composed a wide variety of music for radio and television productions as well as commercials.

I could not find a rendition of Sting’s new hit

I thought it was me
And I was so low
But my words didn’t put a bullet
Into Tim Kono..oh no…

The episode ends with an exciting punk version of the Podcast Theme.
