November 2022 Criterion Titles

Criterion has released a small number of titles for November 2022 so far but they are truly unique and amazing films!

First up is The Power of the Dog. This film is set against the desolate plains of 1920s Montana and adapted by Jane Campion from Thomas Savage’s novel. Jane is known for her work as writer and director of The Piano 1993. This is available as a 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray Combo Pack.

The second featured title is In The Mood For Love. Set in 1962 Hong Kong, Chow Mo-Wan (Tony Leung Chiu Wai) and Su Li-Zhen (Maggie Cheung Man Yuk) move into neighboring apartments on the same day. In this visually extravagant film, the characters discover details about their spouses which creates an intimate bond between them. This is available as a 4K Ultra HD + Blu-ray Combo Pack.

Lastly is a film I became aware of over the summer. This 1966 Czechoslovakian surrealist comedy-drama follows the hedonistic abandon of two young women (Ivana Karbanová and Jitka Cerhová), both named Marie. What happens when the fun ends? This new 4k restoration is available as a Blu-ray.
